Set in over 19 acres of private woodland, Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital is a haven of tranquillity and repose.  As of 1st July 2016, only private patients are treated at Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital, making us the only purely private hospital in East Anglia and the first within the Nuffield Health Hospitals group. We are currently registered with the Care Quality Commission for 60 beds

About the person and the role

21 hours per week, working 07.00 -18.00 Wednesday / Thursday
As a Ward Clerk, you’ll provide vital support. Your key responsibilities will include:

- providing efficient and effective administrative support to the standards and timescales required.
- completing electronic and/or manual data entry / record keeping in an accurate and timely manner, to agreed format and standards
- filing, storing, retrieving and collating information / items accurately and efficiently.
- handling queries within the remit of own role and escalate more complex / serious issues to senior staff where required
- providing a reception service, which involves customer contact and provision of advice within remit of role.
- admitting patients to the department and making straightforward appointment bookings and amendments.

You will need to be a confident and customer-focused communicator with the ability to manage and interpret the right data, and to present it in a timely and professional manner.  You will need good time management skills for this challenging role. Ideally educated to GCSE in English and Math’s with NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration or equivalent, you will have good IT and keyboard skills. Experience within an administrative or customer facing environment and basic knowledge of medical terminology would be a real advantage.
