Job Description


We are entering an exciting period of development within the Stroke Service at The Luton and Dunstable Hospital. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Therapy Technical instructor. You will be expected to assist the physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and dietitians in delivering a high quality service for patients on the stroke unit and rehabilitation wards.

The Stroke Unit provides specialist stroke services to patients across Luton, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes. This is an accredited specialist stroke unit for the region serving a catchment population of 750,000; the L&D is also the regional designated hospital for Thrombolysis.

The post offers the opportunity to develop skills within four different therapy professions whilst specialising in stroke care. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that supports learning in a friendly environment.

Previous therapy experience is essential for the post. Training will also be given but you must be enthusiastic, flexible, organised, have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team. You must be able to work within a fast paced ward environment which can be physically demanding. 

The Luton & Dunstable Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a progressive acute hospital. The workload is acute and therapists have a pivotal role in facilitating early safe discharge, this includes running a 7 day service.  This post will include rostered weekend working.

Full Time 37.5 hours per week - part time would be considered
