Our new service in Beith is now on the look out for caring and amazing ladies (in accordance with the Equality Act 2010) who have a positive upbeat personality and initiative to join our new adult’s service in Beith as Support Workers; we have various contracts available (16 hours to 30 hours) including relief opportunities.

Don't have experience? Don't worry, we recruit on values and behaviours and will invest in you by giving you all the skills you'll need including SVQ qualifications and pay for your time during training.

As a member of our team you'll be providing support to a young bubbly and out-going lady within her own home. Your main aim will be supporting her day to day personal needs, including meal planning, cooking, medication and personal care. She has a medium Cocker Spaniel, so it is essential you get on with dogs.

The person we support is very active and enjoys being out and about, she loves going to Glasgow to see shows and to social events. She attends College and will need to attend her classes and getting around as she has a wheelchair although can walk short distances. We would be looking for you to be enthusiastic about participating and supporting her with her interests whilst nurturing and guiding her to be able to do things independently. By taking a person centered and outcomes focused approach, you will get to know the person we support as an individual and help her recognise her potential.

As we are dedicated in providing around the clock support which is tailored to the needs of the person we support. Shift patterns will be between 08:30am - 10:30pm and include every second weekend. There will be times that the occasional sleepover will be required when the lady we support takes respite at a hotel. To be successful in this role you must be able to follow guidelines and routines. This will be a lone working role.

A manual drivers’ license is essential for this role and the confidence to drive through Glasgow.

You will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and have a commitment to working towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
