Summary

You’ll focus on using data and information across PwC to drive change and improvements in data related operations to help enable the business as well as provide insights related to attendant risks.


Principle duties

As the Operations Senior Manager you will be responsible for planning and managing data related initiatives and operations. As such, the position requires a deep understanding of the PwC functions and processes with particular attention to the global integrations across the firm. The position will be required to have a thorough understanding of the many facets of data and information governance and management.

  • The Operations Senior Manager will lead and manage Source MDM Operations team, both on and offshore, to deliver optimal performance whilst supporting the maintenance and enhancement of entity data within Source MDM

  • To proactively manage the portfolio of critical stakeholders such as the Territory Lead Data Stewards; BOS integration teams (e.g. Salesforce CRM, CES & Risk system owners etc) and the global R&I community and help promote a ‘Data Quality first’ culture

  • To oversee the delivery on multiple key strategic operational initiatives within the Source MDM team in conjunction with cross functional stakeholders leaders (e.g. R&I, BOS), whilst ensuring that financial and budgetary requirements are adhered to

  • To define, measure and improve high quality data through the development of systematic data processing alongside targeted data remediation whilst aligning to wider strategic Data Quality initiatives. Also, drive and manage an efficient and effective Customer Support programme to ensure the high volumes (eg 1000+ tickets per month) of Data Quality and integration issues are addressed and resolved across the broadened user community


Responsibilities

Drive a performance-oriented MDM Operations team:

  • Collaborate with functional and technical groups to identify improvements in global data-related business processes, scope requirements, and impacts related to system and/or process changes

  • Oversee the Operational development and maintenance of the Source MDM projects and initiatives

  • Drive the optimisation of MDM processes including data ingest/acquisition, standardisation/enrichment, harmonization, documentation, security and data provisioning

  • Continually drive for efficiencies and automation to deliver high quality data using the most proficient processes

  • Promote and foster a working environment that enables team members to challenge the status quo in order to seek out best working practices

  • Guide and coach team members to perform to their highest ability; manage performance; provide learning and growth opportunities and deploy effective succession planning

  • Encourage and instill accountability/ownership within the team in order to create a team of SMEs to support a broad and extensive set of data contributors and consumers

Stakeholder engagement and management:

  • Enable business stakeholders in their master data lifecycle management role & responsibilities by providing extensive direction and support through query handling, data workshops and regular communication

  • Oversee the implementation of a targeted and effective Operational change management and communication plan to ensure the user community is fully engaged as well as meeting GCDO leadership reporting needs

  • Interact effectively with Source MDM workstream leads to ensure that transitions from Onboarding and Project are seamless and co-ordinated

  • Navigate and work effectively in a heavily matrixed organization

  • Responsible for managing day to day operational relationships with third party data providers to ensure they achieve high quality service levels required by the Network

Data quality and CRM:

  • Implement a robust and sustainable Data Quality reporting framework that meets the Source MDM internal requirements as well as being aligned to wider GCDO Data Quality initiatives

  • Constantly review and challenge Operational processes to ensure the team is striving for excellence in day to day activities

  • Coordinate remediation efforts according to business need, prioritisation, resource and technology

  • Ensure that System Availability SLAs are adhered to and communicated

  • Drive and sustain an effective Customer Support mechanism that sets challenging SLAs; meets the broadchurch of customer needs and produces valuable reporting to drive data quality enhancements

Strategy and finance:

  • Responsible for the management of the $4m Source MDM Operational Budget

  • Interact with key business stakeholders at levels across Source MDM, BOS and R&I to steer, develop and deploy key strategic initiatives

  • Deploy effective project management skills and prioritisation/time management skills in order to deliver on multiple work streams/projects


Education and awareness
  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma/ Professional Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related fields (preferred)

  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in implementing and running multiple MDM instances in a financial services-led organization

  • Expert level understanding of MDM processes and tools, Data Quality, Data Integration

  • Understanding of agile solution development methodology (Scrum, SAFe)

  • Expert level understanding of MDM Architecture, Data modeling and mapping, Ticket Management


Preferred skills and work experience
  • Proven years of experience in Operations of MDM or Data Warehousing systems and dealing with the associated Data Quality and Data Governance responsibilities

  • Years of specific systems experience including managerial experience

  • Project Management skills-ability to manage complex data oriented programs to deliver on-time results and recommendations for action/next steps

  • A proven track record of working with Senior and C-level executives

  • Proven experience in Operationalizing SLAs, Source and People MDM tools, Synaptica, VSTS, SM9 etc.

  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams, executive leadership, subject matter experts and master data stewards, to contribute to an overarching, holistic data and governance strategy

  • Ability to work across territories and balance competing views in the best interests of the PwC network

  • Knowledgeable in solution development lifecycle from strategy, architecture, design, implementation, testing to release with a focus on delivering operations against business goals and technical requirements

  • Demonstrate success in using engineering and analytics to drive the understanding, growth, and success of service offering

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to understand existing business processes

  • Strong delegation and management skills to ensure work is conducted in a timely, high-quality fashion by internal and external partners

  • Budget management skills
