Job Description

Housing & Technical Resources 

Location: Cambuslang Gate, 27 Main Street, Cambuslang

Hours: 35 hours per week

Grade: Grade 2 Level 1-3

An excellent opportunity has arisen for experienced individual to join our team.

As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of housing services to our customers therefore, you should have experience of working within a housing related environment and have an understanding of current issues and legislation in relation to homelessness, allocations, estate management, rent recovery and dealing with anti- social behaviour.

You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance of policy and procedures by monitoring and auditing information and ensuring that complaints are processed according to standards. 

Excellent IT skills are required as well as the ability to organise and prioritise workload in an effective way and to respond and adapt to changing priorities required in delivering a quality service. You should possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of agencies. 

You will be eligible to participate in South Lanarkshire Council's Car Pool Scheme as it would be advantageous to have access to a vehicle for business purposes if required to travel to alternative locations. 

As part of our approach to good practice and safer recruitment we carry out a number of pre-employment checks for example, Identity, Asylum and Immigration and employment history etc. As this post involves accessing the public services network, the preferred candidate will be subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS).

The preferred candidate will be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
