You will work within the Infrastructure & Support Services Directorate on a fixed term basis as a Statutory Compliance & Development Coordinator.

What you'll do

Key tasks will include but are not restricted to;

Responsible for integrating/analysing, identifying trend analysis on Health & Safety statistics and present these at the directorates Health and Safety group

Chair a variety of Risk Assessment groups for each service within the directorate; and develops and drives forward action plans to ensure that risk assessments are robust and updated timeously and stored appropriately within Athena. Risk assessments will include and not limited to: general Risk Assessments, COSHH, Noise, Stress, M&H, DSE, and SSoW and to ensure all RA's management controls are in place and known to all I&SS staff.

In order for the Directorate to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures, liaise with Heads of Services to develop compliance audits for their service. Once developed, undertake routine and ad hoc compliance audits producing robust reports detailing evidenced based % of compliance and clearly highlighting areas on non - compliance. Audits will include and not limited to : winter gritting operation procedure, vehicle checks, spot checks waste management, control of contractors

Responsible for updating systems on a variety of Key Performance Indicators

Responsible for maintaining a tree management system to include locations , types and risks associated to all tress within NHS A&A's estate, liaising with appointed technical advisor for trees to provide information and keep systems updated

Be an active member in appropriate Short Life Working Groups to improve safety and quality, including with outside agencies, this may involve coordinating the meeting, taking notes, updating action log, and pursuing actions for completion. The post holder on occasion may be required to chair these meetings.

You will be a highly motivated and an effective team player who can work across a number of multi-disciplinary teams. Additional skills and experience include but are not restricted to;

Influencing, negotiating and motivating both management and staff in the involvement and participation of audit/inspection programmes, in particular those members of staff who are resistant to change.Educated to NVQ in Occupational Health & Safety level 2 or working towards thisA trained Risk Assessor with experience in Risk Management.Able to demonstrate the ability to manage time effectively, prioritising work to meet specific and often competing objectives within agreed timescales
