FIFE HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE PARTNERSHIP VICTORIA HOSPITAL, KIRKCALDY SENIOR PHARMACIST, SURGICAL REF NO: WD289/09/17LB FIXED TERM FOR 6 MONTHS SALARY: £40,833 - £49,000 BAND 8A + ON CALL COMMITMENT - HOURS: 37.5 The aim of the Pharmacy Service is to assure quality of patient care in the provision of treatment with medicines. This post represents an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to join the clinical pharmacy team as a Senior Pharmacist delivering specialist services to the surgical specialties. The clinical pharmacy service in NHS Fife is undergoing an exciting and innovative programme of redesign. This post provides an opportunity to lead and develop specialist clinical pharmacy services across the surgical specialties, and gain relevant experience. You will work as part of a senior clinical pharmacist team to deliver and evolve the new clinical pharmacy model focussed upon providing the highest standards of patient centred pharmaceutical care. The team based approach to the new model will allow you to develop a clinical pharmacy team of pharmacists, technicians and support workers, integrated as part of multi-disciplinary ward teams across surgical areas. In addition, you will be the lead pharmacist for the wider Planned Care directorate. You will have line management responsibility and will be expected to undertake professional supervision of less experienced pharmacists, technicians and assistants on a daily basis. Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills are key attributes required to successfully deliver this role. You will have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practicing register of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). In addition you will have a relevant post graduate qualification in pharmacy (e.g. Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy) or equivalent experience and ideally be registered as an Independent Pharmacist Prescriber with the GPhC.
