We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and talented practitioner to assist in leading the Science department from January 2018.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach Science across the full age and ability range up to and including Chemistry at KS4. We are looking for an individual who will be able to assist in further improving the pedagogy and practice of a very talented department. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a passion for the subject, high standards of delivery and expectations of all learners, be committed to improving achievement and will be able to inspire both staff and learners. This post will provide an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practitioner wishing to progress to the next stage of their career.
Aberdare Community School is a flagship state of the art School that was created in September 2014 from an amalgamation of Aberdare Girls’, Aberdare High and Blaengwawr Comprehensive Schools.
Our facilities include a science theatre, a leisure centre with swimming and diving pool as well as state-of-the-art computer and technology facilities. There is an all weather playing surface and other first class sports facilities, with a purpose built athletics stadium to be constructed in the near future. We have our own recording studio as well as sound booths for recording oral work in Welsh, English and Modern Foreign Languages.
Our Mission statement is ‘Work Hard, Dream Big, Reach for the Stars’ and we will deliver excellent educational outcomes for the pupils in Aberdare, with the School being one of the best in Wales. Already we have seen improved results and outcomes for our pupils but this is just the start of our journey.
