Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate to take up a Recovery Champion position within the Integrated Recovery Offender Programme (IROP) team at CGL Aspire Peterborough drug and alcohol treatment service.

CGL Aspire Peterborough  is an integrated end-to-end drug and alcohol treatment and recovery service which offers a wide range of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions to Peterborough residents, their families and significant others who are experiencing issues with drugs and/or alcohol use.

CGL Aspire have been working in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Peterborough Council since April 2016, known as the Integrated Recovery Offender Programme (IROP). The Programme was assigned to deliver an innovative support service aimed at reducing re-offending amongst adult and young offenders with substance misuse (drug and alcohol) problems who are frequent attenders at police custody suits. Since April 2016, the programme has evolved and as a result of its success we have been commissioned to continue delivering this service.

The Recovery Champion will offer intensive support and interventions to this group. The aim is to deliver sustainable recovery by reducing the harm caused by drugs and alcohol and enabling people to live independently, secure training or employment, and play a positive role in their community.

As directed by the Team Leader the successful candidate will be an integral member of a small multi-disciplinary team delivering intensive support and interventions.  They  will support the team in carrying a small  case load and be experienced in providing screening, comprehensive assessments, recovery planning & review, supporting titration and prescribing regimes, providing outreach / in-reach services, delivering 1-1 interventions as well as pods and groups.
