About the Role

We work on a variety of projects, products and services to create and maintain an excellent assessment and content experience for our learners. This role plays a key part in the management of all related assessment and content aspects for a selection of vocational qualifications and services, and is accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of qualification level outcomes. This role has people management at its core, as being able to motivate and create a high-performing team is essential to success in the role.

Key Accountabilities


  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management, motivation and development of your team

  • Deputise for Operations Manager

  • Will value the needs and rights of others

  • Representing Pearson and the department at internal and external meetings.

Customer Service

  • Will “Think customers first” to ensure a great customer experience

  • Ensure accurate and timely responses to customer queries, leading by example, and being an active listener

  • Will review query trend data and seek department-wide improvement to customer experience

Data Management

  • Monitor and report against key performance indicators, including analysing reports, and taking relevant action where needed

  • Effective management of budget and resources

Quality Management

  • Effective project management for assigned products and services.

  • Accountable for Content and Assessment accuracy and timeliness, including qualification outcome accuracy (where relevant)

  • Continual Improvement

  • Improve, simplify and document processes

Relationship Management

  • Managing performance and positive relationships of subject matter experts, which are often contractors

The post holder will:

  • Be an experienced and accomplished people manager

  • Be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the assessment cycle

Additional Information

This role is London based and will be located at our offices at 190 High Holborn, near to the Tube and Covent Garden.

Please note: Due to COVID-19 guidelines, this role will requireworking from home until further notice.

Salary for the role is circa £37,000 depending on experience
