Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, but well-established and high-functioning team of psychosexual practitioners working across Kent and Medway. Currently, the service offers 19 clinical sessions in eight locations across Kent and Medway and it is intending to extend this in the West Kent area. A number of the clinical sessions involve evening work. The post will be based in Tunbridge Wells and the post holder is expected to work out of a number of locations in the West Kent area.

The therapist will be able to carry and manage their own case load effectively and will be able to operate independently, often working in isolation from other therapists within the service. Although the post-holder is expected to work independently, it is important that they also value being a part of a small dynamic team. The post holder will work with a centralised referrals, booking and appointing system, but will conduct their own assessments, devising and delivering related psychosexual treatment programmes. The practitioner will also hold responsibility for monitoring outcomes of therapeutic work. Clinical and managerial supervision is provided from within the Psychosexual Therapy Service by accredited psychosexual supervisors. Supervision includes a mixture of individual, group and safeguarding supervision.

The post-holder will be a fully trained Psychosexual Therapist and will hold a professional registration, as well as accreditation with either COSRT or IPM. For psychosexual therapists who do not yet have full COSRT accreditation with UKCP registration, but where this is imminent or pending, employment may be on AfC Band 6, (Salary: AfC 6 - £26,565-£35,577 pro rata), with upgrade to Band 7 on receipt of accreditation or registration.

Experience of working in the NHS, training other health professionals and an interest in research would be welcomed. The individual appointed to this role will need to be able to move around the county in a timely manner to attend clinics, meetings and training.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 23rd June, 2017
