Our New Law Team is one of the most highly regarded and fastest growing practice areas within the network. We have a multi-disciplinary team across multiple regions including Belfast, London, Birmingham and Leeds which is dedicated to providing an exceptionally high standard of service to our clients. We support our clients in managing their legal operations, by assisting in the transformation of their law departments to become more efficient and providing process and technology optimised managed legal services and contract review and remediation services.

Our clients include numerous household names, MNCs and listed groups as well as privately owned companies across a range of sectors. The work we undertake is often high profile, high value and cross-border in nature and can involve other legal teams in the PwC international network. Our teams often work with Consulting, Deals, Tax and other professionals from within PwC to deliver a comprehensive and integrated service to our clients.

About the role

PMO Project Manager (NewLaw Team) - Full Time/Permanent - Belfast

4- 7 years PQE

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the legal team based in our state of the art facility in Belfast, working closely with our London and other regional offices. We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual with a passion for client service. We are experiencing significant growth in both our private and public sector practices largely due to our ability to harness new technology to deliver better services, faster. We require an individual who is a strong planner, influencer and has proven experience in project delivery. The individual will bring high energy, thrives on building excellent relationships and continually seeks to improve the service we provide.

The role involves the management, planning and execution of large, complex, and strategically significant client programmes, understanding the strategy, and designing and planning of initiatives to shape their execution. The individual will lead on project management for cross-functional teams and will play a critical role at all stages, from pitch/bid stage, through to mobilisation execution and implementation, whilst driving and maintaining senior leadership and client engagement. Using our accredited framework the individual will implement our proven methodologies to drive standardisation and quality.

Essential skills/requirements

  • Strong influencer who is great at connecting the dots at the organisation, strategy, program, and project levels.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to build an understanding of the business, to develop a deep understanding of business needs and to build and shape delivery plans.

  • Comfortable working with, presenting to, and facilitating decisions among senior stakeholders. Able to ask the right questions and challenge the status quo.

  • Proven strength in positions of leadership with the ability to mobilise, inspire, and lead teams.

  • Demonstrable experience designing and leading strategic planning. Able to engage not just on the how, but also the why.

  • Proven experience of pitching for and winning work.

  • Experience of managing transformation projects.

  • Expert knowledge of programme and project management. Knows the tools (eg., change management, dependency management, risk management, strong communication) and when to use them, when not to use them, and when it’s time to create new ones.

  • 4+ years experience in project management and/or management consulting role.

Additional preferred skills

  • Undergraduate degree (e.g. BA, BSc)

  • Any relevant professional qualifications such as PRINCE2, Six Sigma, Lean

The successful candidate will be working with lawyers across the other UK offices and will be occasionally required to travel between the offices.
