The British Museum is seeking a Project Curator: Stonehenge to join the Britain, Europe and Prehistory department. The main purpose of this role is to support the Stonehenge exhibition project team, working closely with the Lead Curator, Project Manager, and other members of the team in the development and delivery of the publication and exhibition, opening early 2022.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
•To work as a core member of the Project Team, assist the Lead Curator, and liaise with other key internal and external stakeholders, partners and contributors.
•To manage and file project documentation and correspondence and to obtain necessary information on loans through liaising with lenders and loans officers.
•To compile and manage a digital database, maintain the object list, and track object movements.
•To assist the Lead Curator with background research and drafting text for the exhibition, publication, associated events, and related printed materials.
•To assist the Lead Curator with the planning and provision of a related programme of events.
Person Specification:
•Educated to at least undergraduate degree level in archaeology or a related discipline.
•Experience working in a Museum setting as well as project and research involvement.
•An excellent communicator who can also work well as part of a team.
•Strong organisation skills alongside great attention to detail and a creative flair.
•IT literate with high proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and managing digital imagery.
