| Laboratories ,Diagnostics Directorate , You will provide expert clinical/technical services relating to the specialist Blood Borne Virus (BBV) testing section under the supervison of the Consultant Clinical scientist.Contribute significantly to quality improvement processes within the specialist section. This will include responsibility for monitoring and ensuring compliance with laboratory accreditation standards, health and safety legislation, liaison with service users (including complaints) and managing errors and clinical incidents with defined corrective action plansbe responsible for a range of tests within the specialist section and provide and continually develop this specialist area, be responsible for undertaking and interpreting the highly specialised procedures used within the specialist section, Have responsibility for instigating, developing and implementing policies and interpretive guidelines within the specialist section, Have responsibility for the introduction of new tests/services within the section and the development of associated policies and the management of their implementation and ongoing evaluation and contribute to the laboratories clinical rota on a regular basis. You should have Honours degree in relevant science for example Clinical/Medical Microbiology, Clinical Scientist Registration with the Health Professions Council which involves completion of a nationally accredited Clinical Scientist training programme, MSC In Microbiology discipline. The hours of this post will be worked 08.45 to 5pm.
