Job Description


The Pharmacy Department is at the forefront of healthcare delivery with a strong focus on medicines management and innovative pharmaceutical practice. It is challenging the current professional roles resulting in a number of innovative pharmacy led developments and new posts. This offers exciting opportunities for professional development at the leading edge for both Pharmacists and Technicians. The post holder would join a team of approximately 60wte Pharmacist and 50wte Technicians.

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join the Oncology & Haematology team. The post holder will be based in the Colney Centre and will work closely with the dispensary and Weybourne Day Unit (WDU) to ensure the timely provision of treatments and supportive care and reduce wastage.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- co-ordination of the dispensing oral cancer treatments for WDU and nurse/pharmacy led clinics
- the reduction of wastage through timely returns and recycling of unused treatments, checking and stock maintenance of the pre-filled syringe service
- the co-ordination and expansion of homecare prescription service for the oncology and haematology patients
- facilitating the expansion of the use of TTO pre-packs to help reduce dispensary workload to the directorate

Full time: 37.5 hours per week.

**Hours of work are full-time Monday to Friday with a requirement to participate in our weekend and bank holiday service.**
