We have an opportunity for a strong leader to join our team to advance the use of new technologies within North Lanarkshire Council. Primarily based in Civic Square, Motherwell, you will be key in leading and developing the strategic direction and operational management, administration and performance of the technology teams. To succeed in this role, you must be educated to degree/HND/SVQ4 standard or equivalent in a relevant subject and have successfully obtained membership of an appropriate professional institute. You will be able to provide evidence of continuous professional development and have substantial senior management experience in a relevant field. A management qualification is desirable. You should be able to demonstrate experience in developing multi agency initiatives, strategies and policies, of presenting information in a public forum and of managing the security and risk aspect of ICT infrastructure. In addition, experience of creating technology vision and route map is essential, as is supplier and internal relationship management. Experience within an information security and/or cyber security environment is desirable. This post will require home working as well as attendance at offices based in Motherwell. Excellent organisational, ICT and communication skills are essential along with an understanding and knowledge of legislation and initiatives within the field and Health and Safety issues and developments. You should have experience of managing projects including a proven ability to achieve targets and the ability to analyse data and produce relevant reports, manage multi-changing demands and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of risk management and mitigation techniques is also required along with the ability to make decisions in difficult or ambiguous situations. You should be able to travel throughout North Lanarkshire and will be required to participate in an out of hours standby rota. You will also be expected to assist in responding to Corporate and Service emergencies. Interviews to take place week commencing 13 July 2020.
