LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN PATIENT SAFETY

REF NO: MED100A

You will join the Institute of Education for Medical and Dental Sciences (IEMDS) as one of a team of academic, administrative and clerical staff who support the medical and dental degree programmes, the BSc in medical sciences and a wide range of post graduate healthcare related programmes.

The post is part of an exciting initiative which seeks to further the development of patient safety and human factors teaching and research for the medical and other healthcare curricula. You will report to the Director of the Centre for Healthcare Education Research and Innovation (CHERI).

 

The post is available up to full time. It is expected that the successful candidate will have experience teaching and research in the field of human factors and patient safety. You will be expected to have the relevant background and experience to design and undertake pedagogic research working with CHERI, attracting grant funding and with high quality output.

 

Key activities will include the delivery of high quality patient safety teaching and assessment relating to the University of Aberdeen MBChB curriculum and the Clinical Skills Centre at Foresterhill, and designing and undertaking an associated programme of high quality pedagogic research in collaboration with CHERI, NHS partners and the Clinical Skills Centre.

 

Salary: Grade 7 salary scale for Lecturers (£41,526 - £49,552 per annum), and the Grade 8 salary scale for Senior Lecturers (£52,559 - £59,135 per annum).
