This is an exciting opportunity to join the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Spiritual Care Team as a Trainee Healthcare Chaplain. During the two years of training and formation, the successful candidate(s) will work in a variety of settings: e.g. Older People's Care; Paediatrics & Maternity Services; Palliative Care and Mental Health settings. It is envisaged that upon successful completion of your training you will meet all of the essential and desirable criteria within the Person Specification.
You will be able to:
Deliver appropriate spiritual, religious and pastoral care to all patients, visitors, staff and volunteers, regardless of faith or life stance.
Act as a link to various community faith and belief groups, supporting and facilitating the care of their members while they are in healthcare.
Support the integration of spiritual care into healthcare provision through working as part of the multidisciplinary team providing holistic care and providing training and support for staff and yolunteers.
This position is offered at Band 6 Annex 21. The salary scale for this post is ?28,050 per annum rising in annual increments to ?37,010 per annum (based on AFC pay scale for 2018/2019). As a trainee your pay is determined as a percentage of pay for qualified staff, in accordance with Annex U of the Agenda for Change terms and conditions. As you are more than 2 years from completion of training you will receive 70% of the Band 6 maximum for qualified staff which equates to ?25,907 per annum in year 1 and in year two 75% which equates to ?27,757. On completion of your training you will be placed on either the first pay point above your training salary. You should have a Degree level studies (or equivalent) in theology/religious studies/philosophy, including spiritual care.This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
