Job Description This is an exciting opportunity requiring strong leadership, excellent communication skills and a thorough knowledge of current educational developments. The successfully appointed Headteacher will lead two small rural primary schools. Kincardine in Menteith Primary School is situated in the small rural community of Blairdrummond, and Thornhill Primary School is in the neighbouring village of Thornhill. The schools aim to provide high quality learning experiences for all children so that each and every child achieves their potential. The schools seek to provide a caring, happy and motivating environment in which children develop and flourish. Both schools have a uniqueness that is reflected in their individual curriculum rationales; both schools are ideally situated to embrace many opportunities for outdoor learning and engage fully in their communities. Stirling Council seeks to appoint a highly motivated professional to lead the schools and work in close collaboration with the wider school community. The applicant will be committed to delivering excellence and equity by sustaining school improvement, promoting high quality learning and teaching, and raising achievement and attainment for all learners. The Pre-Activities Day will be held on Tuesday 13th June 2017.With Interviews on Thursday 15th June 2017.Requirements The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for children.
