About the team:

You will lead the successful Revenue Protection & Prosecutions Development Team. This team sets the standards for the frontline teams, leads on fraud and prosecutions activity and provides support with the delivery of key data and strategic influence

About the job:

You will develop and own an integrated cross functional strategy, which optimises the ticket, penalty fares, and UFN revenue collected across GWR stations and trains including the strategy related to prosecutions. Facilitate and track a set of delivery plans which deliver the aims and targets mapped out in the GWR Revenue Protection Strategy. Develop a unified approach to revenue protection across the business.

Lead and direct the prosecutions and fraud management effort to optimise results both in terms of financial and reputational value.

Provide line managers and regional teams accurate and timely business data and KPI's enabling managers to make the right decisions and do the right things to deliver their part of the GWR strategy. Work in collaboration with the regional teams and central prosecutions team to create revenue generative schemes that are aligned to the Revenue Protection Strategy.

Manage an effective and ongoing communications plan promoting and informing internal and external stakeholders appropriately on elements of Revenue Protection Strategy and delivery against the plan.

Develop in collaboration with Sales & Marketing, regional operations teams and other stakeholders a consistent approach for customers on ticket purchase arrangements and a clear and consistent set of rules which are applied for individuals who travel without a ticket.    

Manage the IQM (Revenue Shield) contract and other technical developments ensuring compliance with SLA's & contractual arrangements, protecting the interests of GWR

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Making sure GWR implements the revenue protection strategy
  • Working cross-functionally to align GWR departments to the RP strategy
  • Identifying new opportunities to uncover and eliminate fare evasion and fraud
  • Lead the fraud, prosecutions and departmental analyst
  • To analyse, report and recommend actions in pursuit of GWR revenue objectives
  • Provide period KPI data on a regional and company wide basis
  • Ensure the regional teams work in collaboration on revenue generative schemes, where appropriate.
  • Development of Revenue Protection related policies, procedures and processes.
  • Chair of period cross regional / function RP development forum.
  • Provide reports / data / results as required for the Head of Department & Company Executive.

Development of the Prosecutions team services, developing options to commercialise the department through external contracts and continually seeking better ways to do things

You'll need to be:

  • Understanding of; the Legal System, Railway legislation and conditions/policies,
  • Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984
  • Criminal Procedure Rules
  • Magistrates' Court conduct/etiquette
  • Penalty Fares
  • Retail Foundation
  • Competence in MS office and adaptable to other computer software

About the location:

Reading is easily accessible on the GWR and other Train Company networks. Applicants will be required to be based in Reading but may work flexibly if located in another location

Working Pattern:

Pimarily a Weekday/office hours role but with some flexibility around key events and critical seasonal factors
