Job Description

An organisation which is helping to fight back against COVID-19 is looking for a Front End Developer to join their team. The company's PaaS product allows users within the health and medical industry to collaborate from across the world. This is a chance to join them when their product really is in high demand and playing a key part in tackling coronavirus. What will I be doing? Great question! Technology underpins the entire business, so as you can imagine, their tech team is quite important. As a Front End Developer, you will focus on helping them make sure that their PaaS product developed behind the scenes looks and feels beautiful to their consumers. With no UX Designers in the team, you will be expected to bring your own UX knowledge to the table and really be the voice of user experience within the team. From a purely tech stack point of view, they are currently using JavaScript, React, Redux and Node.js. Although commercial experience with React would be preferred, experience with any of the modern Frontend JavaScript frameworks would be welcomed. Who am I? Ideally, you will have commercial experience working in Frontend positions using Angular, React or Vue. It would also help if you have worked really closely with design teams or UX designers, or even better done a bit of UX Design yourself! If you've got experience with working in cloud environments, then that's a big bonus too. They also don't care if you are self-taught, have a degree, worked as a Stockbroker or pro sportsperson in a previous life. They know that developers come from all sorts of different backgrounds. Who will I be working with? A collaborative and motivated team! The company are massive on promoting from within so the opportunity for career development is there for all to see. As mentioned before, the team are highly collaborative, with every team member having regular one-on-ones with Managers and individual training/development programmes. With social good at the heart of what they do, not only are you getting a chance to work a company with a great technical environment, you will also have a positive impact on the world. What are the benefits and where I will be based? They pay competitive salaries and there are good benefits on top; strong pension, good holiday allowance, medical. With everything that is going on in the world just now, you'll be in interviewed and on-boarded remotely. Once we are back to normal and can get back in the office, you will have a choice of where you work. The company has offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh City Centre, so it's up you wherever suits better! If this sounds like it could be a good fit, then please apply and/or get in touch with Jack Steven at Cathcart Associates.
