Finance Systems Technician
We are currently recruiting a Finance systems technician to join our UK Finance Systems Team, who are responsible supporting the systems which ensure timely and accurate data for month end close reporting processes, Tax, Business Insights and Business Partnering teams.
The team have recently gone through a period of change as part of Building One Zurich UK restructure. You will be responsible for updating and maintaining key Finance systems, while working closely with the Financial Accounting & Reporting team and the wider finance community.
The Finance systems team are responsible for development and maintenance of the key finance reporting systems ensuring all data reported fits with business and financial reporting needs for UK Finance and delivers on an accurate and timely basis. The main system you will be exposed to is SAP. You will be responsible for -
Assisting the team to ensure that processes and procedures are followed and completed to support key business objectives.
Perform the maintenance and updating of the Finance Systems as required
Provide hands on support to users of SAP and BW
Manage the process for providing and reviewing user access to SAP and BW
Monitor system close activities and manage changes
Help identify and implement improvement opportunities
Ensure tasks performed adhere to the internal SOX control framework

Support local projects as a Subject Matter Expert or Business Analyst as needed
Provide specialist advice to address specific technical queries and provide user training on Finance systems, particularly SAP and BW
Update systems in a timely manner
Ensure user access to the systems is complete, up to date and adheres to the SOX control environment
Monitor regular SAP close related activities and make changes as required
Maintenance of SAP master data
Liaison with offshore IT support for delivery of SAP related change and incident resolution
Deliver training and desk side support to users of SAP and BW
Occasional maintenance of BW reports
Regression testing of SAP processes when technical changes are made to the system
Performance Management Accountabilities:

Your skills and experience:
Good user knowledge of SAP FICO desirable and other financial systems & business platforms an advantage
Experience of Finance department processes and priorities
Analytics and systems experience
Focused on the internal customer, tactical and diplomatic
Ability to work with and translate between technical and business skill sets
A high level of computer literacy and an analytical approach to work is essential
Ability to plan and manage own work
Enthusiastic, positive attitude
Able to cope with change
Experience of working in a complex business environment
Makes decisions in line with responsibility and accountability
Team player with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, who collaborates across the organisation
Excellent organisational and time management skills

Studying towards formal Accountancy Qualifications not essential but advantageous
