PERMANENT POSITION – ELECTRICIAN – PORTSMOUTH – £26,000 – £32,500

Electrician required in Portsmouth on a permanent employment basis. You will be working for an award winning company based in Portsmouth who have an enviable reputation.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, providing a customer-focused and cost-effective service.

Duties:

In the role of electrician you will be expected to:

Installation or replacement of additional electrical components, accessories, and circuits.
To carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance duties.
Testing & inspection of all works carried out as required by BS767.
To work flexibly, to meet the needs of the business.
Gain experience across a range of other duties as directed by your line management.
Fire alarm and emergency light testing.
To comply with all relevant Health and Safety standards and ensure that other staff and contractors under your direction always use appropriate PPE.
To ensure all work undertaken is carried out strictly in accordance with supervisory instruction and site safety protocols.
To ensure all reactive work is completed within the timescales set.
Participate in a call-out rota to cover out-of-hours calls if necessary.
Work at height.
To supervise other staff and lead electrical tradesmen (internal and contractor) and assisting other trades as required in accordance with agreed RAMS.
To meet time frames and standards as indicated in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
To liaise with building users to minimise the impact of work and to keep them informed of progress.
Working safely and effectively alone or in a team to maintain and improve the campus in-line with University and Derwent FM’s policies and procedures.
To be capable of working from drawings and specifications and other documentation without the need for direct supervision.
To advise the General Manager of materials required to support completion of the task within required time frames.
To contribute to the preparation of and adhere to Risk Assessment, COSHH and Method Statement documentation as appropriate.

Qualifications/Training

City and Guilds 2330 (levels 2 &3) or equivalent.
City and Guilds 2382 17th Edition.
City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing or equivalent.
City and Guilds 2377 Portable Appliance Testing.
Awareness of Health & Safety issues and the need for safe methods of working.
Holds a full, clean driving licence.

Experience

Significant experience in electrical maintenance or a similar environment.
Experience of inspecting and testing to the current regulations.
Experience of using computerised maintenance systems
Experience in completion of PPM’s
Risk assessments and Permits to Work
PASMA
IPAF
Experience of driving commercial vehicles
Preparation of Risk and Method Statements
