We are looking for a motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Dietitian to lead our Weight Management Team which comprises Dietitians, Dietetic Support Workers and administration support.  This post offers an opportunity to work across Ayrshire and Arran supporting a tiered approach to weight management and diabetes prevention work.  

You will lead team’s delivering a specialist weight management programme “LEAN” which is delivered by Dietitians and Exercise Specialists from Vibrant Communities, with input from physiotherapy and advisory input from psychology.   Co-production to help shape the programme has been promoted and participants are supported to set their own goals. You will also work to support a diverse range of organisations including NHS, Local authority, third sector and football clubs delivering, “weigh-to-go” and offering training and mentoring.  You will also lead our Diabetes Prevention Dietitians to roll out a prevention model across Ayrshire and have the opportunity to shape future service design. 

The team is based at North West Kilmarnock Area Centre but travel across all areas of Ayrshire and Arran will be required to support the service.  
The Department provides training to A and C placement students and offers clinical supervision.

You should possess an Honors degree/postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.  Experience in weight management is essential and experience of diabetes and line management would be an advantage.  You should have the skills to work in a multi-disciplinary setting across a range or organizations both statutory and third sector, to develop services that work together to provide a seamless approach to weight management for the people of Ayrshire. Evidence of CPD is essential as is evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post e.g. excellent communication and team working.

Hours: 25 per week
