  • Do you have a working knowledge of SQL Server 2003 / 2008 R2 / 2012/ 2014/ 2016 and Microsoft SQL SSIS/ SSAS/ SSRS?
  • Do you have a working knowledge of Data Warehouse Extract, Transformation and Load (ETL) concepts and methodology?

    Data Warehouse Manager

    Duration: 3 Months, potentially longer

    Type of role: Temporary

    Location: East London

    Pay: £30 paye hol inc per hour OR £37 umbrella per hour

    Band: 8A

    Hours: Mon - Fri, 9:00am - 5:00pm (37.5 hours pw)

    Start Date: ASAP

    Overview

    • To be responsible of maintaining the information of SQL servers and to ensure all the daily processes are complete and available for analysts.
    • You will perform a vital role in ensuring all the internal and external reports are produced and submitted on time.

    Responsibilities:

    • Have overall responsibility for the Informatics Data warehouse function for the Trust
    • Be responsible for design, development, implementation, performance and maintenance of the data warehouse
    • Ensure that the Trust exploits the wealth of information captured within its clinical systems. Provides an essential platform to support the Trust's information and contract monitoring analytics, reporting and performance management which is pivotal to the Trust's ability to meet both external and internal reporting requirements
    • Provide subject matter expertise pertaining to complex Data warehouse and database challenges as well as providing expert specialist advice to the Trust
    • Maintain the integrity of the Data warehouse and ensure that it is maintained as a trusted single source of the truth
    • Focus on the collection and reporting of data from various clinical systems including acute and community datasets across the Trust
    • Play a pivotal role in the implementation of all new Trust systems, with a view to data migration and new data extraction to support accurate and timely reporting throughout the Trust
    • Report directly to the Head of Information and work closely with the EPR Clinical Systems Team, Reporting Layer development and maintenance team, Contract monitoring Team, Information Team and IT team.

    Requirements:

    • Experience working as a Data Warehouse Manager within the NHS (desirable)
    • Have a combination of DBA skills and an understanding of NHS datasets
    • Experience of budgetary management
    • Experience of managing, motivating and developing teams of people
    • Experience being responsible for design, development, implementation, performance and maintenance of data warehouse
    • Extensive experience of receiving and/or extracting complex and sensitive datasets from complex systems
    • Extensive experience of analysing and interpreting complex datasets
    • Extensive experience of supporting Information and operational teams through high quality information sets
    • Strong analytical skills - Conversant with such techniques as SSADM and UML Programming
    • Working knowledge of SQL Server 2003 / 2008 R2 / 2012/ 2014/ 2016 and Microsoft SQL SSIS/ SSAS/ SSRS
    • Data Warehouse Extract, Transformation and Load (ETL) concepts and methodology
