Job Description

Data Analyst

Sector - Insurance
Location - Hove

A global insurance company is looking for a Data Analyst to join their Professional Practice team that provides overall support to the Group Audit Committee and Executive Management in the protection of the assets, reputation and sustainability of the company.

As an Analyst, you will report to the Head of Audit, Data Analytics and Professional Practice.

Job Duties:

- Manage and control GIA's (Group Internal Audit) core technology tools including it's audit management system (MK Insight)
- Ensure data integrity, performance and resilience
- Implement a strategy for data and information management that supports GIA in understanding business strategy and in focusing audit work on the most important risks
- Provide high-quality management information for GIA's reporting to the Group Audit Committee and other regular reporting to business stakeholders
- Optimise the use of the MKI tool and further improve Management Information (MI) available to GIA

Skills and Experience Required:

- Quantitative degree with an IT or analyst qualification and /or equivalent business experience.
- Programming skills in R or Python for unstructured text processing or machine learning
- Exposure to analytical, reporting and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Experience working within a team
- Understanding of risk management principles and practices
- Some knowledge of corporate governance principles and operational risk management

Beneficial experience:

- Awareness of the Insurance, Savings and Fund Management industry, including products, strategy and external influences
- Experience of working with IT tools related to work management, databases, and analytical tools
- Analytical work related to the production and presentation of MI
- Working in a professional services firm or regulated business (e.g. financial services)
- Provision of support services to a professional team
- Previous experience in operational management, operational risk management, or internal audit practice management role
