We are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join us in Bristol.

You will be based at Enterprise House in Lawrence Hill and be contracted to a minimum 37.5 hours per week, salary will be discussed at interview.

What will you be doing?

Working as a key member of the local commercial team, this role will ensure that robust data analysis and evaluation of customer insight sit at the heart of decision making processes in the local operating company.

You will be responsible for local commercial analysis, with support from the central data and analytics team, and will embed an insight-led approach to make better decisions in the Operating Company.

Some other key responsibilities:

  • Use data and insight to proactively monitor business performance, being able to early identify emerging trends and issues.
  • Identify opportunities within our bus networks to improve their efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support the preparation of the revenue budget and forecasts
  • Working within a divisional framework, provide regular revenue performance reports with relevant commentary and insight.
  • Using market information provided by the central analytics team, understand why external factors impact demand on bus travel, and make recommendations based on that insight.
  • Work with the local marketing team to identify opportunities for marketing investment, and, using agreed methodologies, measure its return.
  • Provide analytical support for new business initiatives within the Operating Company
  • Liaise with colleagues in the central analytics team, and in other operating companies, to ensure best practice analysis is shared.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with an inquisitive nature and the ability to use data and insight to build arguments for change, this will be aided by your ability to influence senior stakeholders with compelling analysis and reports. You will need strong numerical capabilities with a degree in maths or equivalent, along with great analytical and communication skills combined with business acumen, pragmatism and a good sense of diplomacy.
