Chef/Caterer advert

Post 1: 37.5 hours per week on a 3 week rota

Post 2: 20 hours per week Mon-Sun (Various shifts)

Our kitchen provides over 2500 meals per week to patients and our on-site café provides food for staff, patients & visitors and holds the Eat Out Eat Well silver award and we are looking to recruit two chef’s to enhance our dynamic team and help us provide an excellent service to our Trusts patients, staff and visitors.

The Benefits

  • Favourable Hours of work – primarily Monday to Friday, with weekend work required on a rota basis. NHS enhanced rate of pay will be paid for hours worked at weekends.

Our Team

You will enjoy plenty of variety in your work within the Catering Team at Berrywood. Hotel Services supports Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust through a wide department consisting of Domestic/Cleaning, Laundry services, Catering, Portering, Reception and front of house services

The Role

Your main responsibility when you join our team of caterers based at Berrywood Hospital will be to assist in preparing and cooking patient meals and for our retail Café Vie outlet. A good knowledge of catering practices and procedures will be required which may have been gained in a similar hospital environment or in the catering private sector. A good knowledge of ingredients, recipes and associated allergens will also be essential to the successful candidate. If you can deliver a reliable efficient service, in a fast paced environment, with the ability to use your own initiative and offer flexibility to ensure our service is always at its best, then you may be the one for the job!
