We are now looking for the right person to join our team in Building Services who shares our values , commitment and motivation to help make a difference for our districts and those who live here.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as the “Building Services Team Manager (Repairs)”. The successful person will manage all aspects of our Housing Stock repairs service, including leading a team of circa 50 staff in addition to monitoring our local partners who provide services on our behalf across the housing stock of Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils’. In addition, Building Services currently manage outsourced contracts of approximately £12m per year delivering capital investment programmes.

We are looking for a team player who understands our ambition around excellent service for customers and understands sustainability, commerciality and have a long-term mindset.

You will need to demonstrate your excellence in performance and people management, as well as contract and financial management. Experience of managing large operational teams across the built environment is also essential.

Both Councils’ have passed a Carbon Reduction Management Plan which makes this is an exciting time to join our forward thinking organisation and lead the way on decarbonising our 7,000 homes.

You will be based at our operational hub close to Ipswich, with a range of facilities and excellent travel links. A driving licence/car is required for the post. A casual mileage allowance can be claimed for business mileage.
