Assistant Project Manager - Yeovil - Inside IR35

Based in Yeovil an Assistant Project Manager is required on a 12 month contract basis to work for a major defence client.

Overview of the Assistant Project Manager

  • The successful candidate will provide project management of multiple tasks delivering human, social and behavioural sciences research.
  • Manage the monitoring and controlling of project finances.
  • Produce cost, schedule and resource estimates for the project management element of the research tasks.
  • Manage communications with suppliers and Customers to resolve issues and ensure that expectations are clear.
  • Review project progress against the project baseline and determine and agree control actions where needed.
  • Manage baseline changes with the supplier and customer organisations.
  • Identify areas for improvement and support enhancements in line with continuous improvement methodology.
  • As part of the project team you will be expected to work closely with team members, and support the team and/or project leadership in daily activities.

Key Skills of the Assistant Project Manager

  • Proven Project Management tools and techniques.
  • Working to define and structured lifecycle processes.
  • You will also be required to build relationships with stakeholders so strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Excellent - Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio.
  • Highly organised and have the ability to work well in a high pressured role.
  • Excellent work ethic, committed, enthusiastic and driven to succeed.
