37hpw, 39 weeks per year (term time including 5 PD days).
8.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Thursday (with half hour lunch break).
8.30am - 4.30pm Friday (with half hour lunch break).

Are you flexible and enthusiastic in your approach, professional, organised, have great attention to detail and a passion for doing things properly?

Do you have the ability to produce well-written correspondence and documentation of a high quality in terms of layout, spelling, punctuation and grammar, using Standard English in a clear and easy-to-read format?

Are you able to use your initiative well, to assess situations and act accordingly, whilst ensuring you continue to follow embedded processes and procedures?

Do you have outstanding customer service skills and an excellent telephone manner, with the ability to take full and accurate messages, welcoming visitors and callers thoughtfully and appropriately?

We are seeking a well-motivated, adaptable, proactive person with a very warm personality, to join the team at our all-age special school for pupils with a wide range of complex needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autism.

As one of the first points of contact for our many visitors and callers, a professional appearance with a very friendly, helpful and welcoming manner is essential.

You will have:

  • outstanding communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • flexibility
  • the ability to multi-task
  • the ability to work co-operatively and use your initiative effectively
  • excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (essential)
  • experience of managing database systems, controlling an electronic diary and of handling cash in an office environment would be an advantage.

Confidentiality, discretion and a considerate manner are vital and a cheerful nature, a positive 'can do' attitude and a good sense of humour, are all essential.

Experience of working in a school environment is not necessary as full training will be provided.
You will have GCSEs grades A-C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, as a minimum.
