The South Adult Learning Disability Team is a specialist tier 3 health team supporting adults with learning disabilities who require specialist learning disability health care and who live within our designated geographical area. This is part of Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership. The team is multi-disciplinary and includes the following professions: Consultant Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Community Learning Disability Nursing and Healthcare assistants, Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Support staff, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Administration staff. The aim of the service is to provide frontline specialised health services for adults with learning disabilities within the designated geographical catchment area which includes person centred assessment, treatment, support, advice and training as appropriate for that individual. The team will also facilitate access to appropriate primary care and acute services. You will provide support and assistance to qualified staff who will provide health services to adults with a learning disability and associated complex needs. Assist in assessment of clients needs, development , implementation and evaluation of interventions and carry out delegated task as per care plan for people with learning disabilities ensuring such care is person centred and promotes and maintains optimum health for adults with learning disabilities who may have additional complex needs.

You should have significant experience of working with people with a learning disability, a high level of motivation, good interpersonal skills and be a positive role model.
