GSK’s global manufacturing and supply (GMS) teams are responsible for making and shipping the products that help us achieve our mission of helping people do more, feel better, live longer. We have more than 27,000 people in GMS, across 86 sites in 36 countries. Together, these people help to produce 4 billion packs of medicine, nearly 900 million doses of vaccine and more than 18 billion packs of consumer healthcare products every year for the patients and consumers at the end of our supply chains.
At Barnard Castle, we proudly manufacture 38 different medicines in over 1500 pack variations to treat HIV, cancer, infectious diseases, migraines, psoriasis, dermatitis, asthma, cold sores and acne, to name just a few. We supply these to over 130 markets around the world.
We currently have an opportunity for a First Line Leader (Shift Team Manager) to join our Dermatological department.
We are looking for a leader with significant experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably pharmaceutical, who can use sound judgement and set a clear and compelling vision that shows your people how their work contributes to delivering our strategy. You must act as a role model ensuring everything you do is line with our values. Invest in your people and build the organisational capabilities necessary to implement our strategy now and in the future. You must hold yourself and your team and others accountable for delivering quality results.
• To lead and motivate a team towards delivering the area performance targets (quality, safety and service). Taking responsibility for the training plans, personal development, safety and discipline of staff
• To efficiently and effectively use resources (people, material, equipment) to achieve stream objectives
• To provide clear leadership, development and direction for the team by creating and executing an up-skilling programme for team members, setting stretch targets and evaluating results
• To conduct problem solving and trouble-shooting including root cause analysis using appropriate techniques
• To identify improvements and mobilise teams to devise and implement solutions for simple and complex problems
(Shift patterns include Lates/Earlies/Nights).
